Weston’s 3 Month Update and a Postpartum Update!

This month seemed like it lasted forever! I feel like it’s been a long time since his last update! It definitely hasn’t been easy. Some days I feel like a complete zombie. Even when Weston only wakes up once a night, it still feels like I’m completely sleep deprived! Last night, he was waking up every 2 hours to eat until about 2:30 and then slept until 8. I’m thinking he’s going through his 3 month growth spurt… right on schedule!

I’m really starting to think Weston wasn’t really “colicky” at all. He doesn’t really fit the “definition”. I believe it’s just his temperament. He’s happy when he’s happy and FUSSY when he’s fussy. I have to be in his line of vision or else he’s not happy lol He doesn’t like when I eat either because he just has a complete fit every time. I KIIINDA remember Peyton being like that at some point but it definitely didn’t last long. Let’s hope history repeats itself lol

Weston still isn’t the BIGGEST fan of tummy time but he’s improved A LOT. He’s starting to be able to entertain himself a little bit which is good. He loves to coo and hear himself. It’s the cutest thing in the world. It’s very easy to get him to smile and he loves to be spoken to. He LOVES his mama. I’ll catch him staring at me from across the room and smiling and it MELTS MY HEART. I love this little boy so much my heart could just burst. We are developing such a special bond and I can’t wait to watch it grow as time goes on. He loves being near his sister and she just LOVES him. I’m so happy she is developing a bond with him already.

Weston is starting to interact more with his toys. He is starting to hold them and bring them to his mouth. He loves his Itzy Ritzy teething mit too! He rolled over from belly to back twice in a row but hasn’t since! lol

As for me, if you typically follow my blog, you’ll know I posted my experience with some postpartum depression. I feel substantially better. Not 100%…but better! Once my cycle returned, which apparently my body doesn’t care if I’m breastfeeding, I felt almost an instant relief. So, I’m thinking a lot of it had to do with hormones. Some days I’m completely overwhelmed but I think that is just the reality of 2 under 2. Twice a week I take some time to myself which also helps. I basically go to the coffee shop or to Target. It’s nice to have a little break and I am truly blessed to be able to do that. I’m going to end it here because I’m honestly exhausted and can’t even see straight anymore lmao

  1. Wow, reading this post brought back some good old memories of myself with my daughter just a year ago. I’m shocked at how soon you got your cycle back even while you are still breastfeeding, it took me nearly a year to get it back. Basically until after I stopped breastfeeding my daughter. I know the breastfeeding, no sleep struggles with the baby so, I totally get your pain. But, I’m glad to hear you are doing much better. Hang in there mama!
