I totally slacked on this since I was too pregnant to keep up with the monthly favorites lol But I’m back and I’m going to do my best to keep up with these!
This month, our son was born. What an amazing way to start the year. The transition, so far, has gone pretty well! I definitely expected worse! It is difficult to have to nurse Weston every 2 hours and still keep Peyton entertained so she doesn’t feel left out. Weston still eats and sleeps most of the day so I have been able to put him down and give Peyton some one-on-one time. She has done so well with the transition and she truly LOVES her baby brother. Anytime he cries she always runs over to him to check on him and it’s the sweetest thing!
We have had the pleasure of trying out a few new products that we never used with Peyton. This time around, we have been using the Dockatot and we absolutely love it! Weston loves it too! It serves as the perfect place to put him down while I’m playing with Peyton or helping her go potty. He is always so comfortable and content in it. If you don’t know what the Dockatot is, let me enlighten you because it is a game changer! It is a multi-functional lounger for your baby. We have the Deluxe model, since it is for smaller babies from 0-8 months old. After 8 months they can start using the Grand Dock which can be used until 36 months! It has been tested for breathability which is SUPER important to me because I’m all about safe sleeping habits. It is really soft and they come with the CUTEST prints for the covers. We picked the marble and I think it looks so sleek and nice.
A lot of parents co-sleep and some don’t. Whichever you prefer is your decision and I don’t judge either way! We always used a co-sleeper bassinet in our bed with Peyton because that is what we were most comfortable with. I think the Dockatot can provide parents with the sense that they are close to their baby while they sleep, but in a safer way than having them right in the bed. It’s very snug and cozy and it gives your baby the sense of security that they had in the womb. Not to mention, it is portable so you can take it with you from room to room and it even has a handle on it so you can easily carry it around! It’ll definitely come in handy for travel as well.
We are looking forward to using the Dockatot more for tummy time too! The edges of the dock are high enough where you can prop your baby up on it. This will encourage him to hold his head up and gain the head and neck control that he needs. With my kids, tummy time comes with a lot of spit up. We have already had to wash the cover and it was pretty easy to clean! You just unzip the cover, take it off, put it in the machine and hang it out to dry.

I also want to do a quick mention of the shopbinxy I recently posted about on my Instagram! Shopbinxy is a shopping cart hammock to put your baby in while you shop! It’s really easy to attach to the shopping cart and they also have super cute prints! Most of the time, when I run to the store for a few things, I just use the stroller and put my items in the small storage area. But if you are doing a larger shop and you don’t want to keep your baby in the car seat, the binxy will definitely come in handy! If you DO want to keep your baby in the car seat, you can put the carseat on top of the binxy! It holds up to 50 pounds so you won’t have to worry about damaging it. Get ready to get a lot of compliments at the store too… babies look SO cute in these!

If you have any questions about either product, feel free to reach out and ask! I truly love using both of these items and I think they really come in handy for these early weeks! The newborn stage can be exhausting and challenging at times and I’m all for any product that makes life a little easier!
I’ll be posting my postpartum recovery comparison blog within the week so keep an eye out for that!
