28 Weeks – A HARD fall and Shocking Glucose Test Results

HELLO THIRD TRIMESTER! Holy crap, I can’t believe it! I am in the home stretch. This week has been an absolute whirlwind! I’m going to jump right into all of the things that happened this week. I will just say now that I am okay and so is baby Weston!

Let’s start with Monday. Monday was probably one of the WORST days I have had during this pregnancy. I woke up that morning and literally said to myself “I am going to have a great day and I am going to get everything I want to.. DONE”. Everything was going smoothly as usual. My daughter was begging me for her sippy cup which I typically do not let her walk around with it because she spills it everywhere SOMEHOW. It is impossible to get her to drink ANYTHING these days so I gave in that morning. I was in the kitchen and Aaron was in his office. All of a sudden I hear a LOUD bang and Peyton started SCREAMING from the hallway. Aaron ran out of his office and I ran toward her. Little did I know, when she fell, her sippy cup went flying and so did a BUNCH of water. Here comes mama, running full speed ahead, and I SLIP in the air and all,  and land right on my left hip and butt. It was a pretty hard fall. Aaron was horrified and Peyton wouldn’t stop screaming. It was a complete and utter nightmare. I was in SO much pain and I was crying myself from the shock of falling and I was worrying about the baby. Once everything calmed down with Peyton, Aaron was able to come over to help me. I was doing okay and Wes was still moving like a crazy person as usual. I called my midwife’s office and let them know what happened. I didn’t have any cramping or bleeding and Wes was very active still. I just monitored him throughout the day and everything was okay other than my body being in intense pain. Luckily I was able to get in to see my physical therapist the next day and they helped me a lot! I love them!

As if all of that wasn’t stressful enough, I get a phone call from my midwife’s office. I’m thinking they were checking up on me after falling. Instead, I received news that I FAILED my 1 hour glucose screening. I was in complete shock as I passed last time with flying colors. All of this happened within 2-3 hours. I was a hot mess to say the least! The 3 hour glucose test was basically torture. We had to wake up around 6:30 a.m. to get down south to my midwife’s office. Didn’t eat or drink anything since the night before. I had to drink the glucose drink and it was SO much worse than the first time, my goodness. SO sugary. My blood was drawn 4 times, once when we initially got there and then every hour after. We left around 11:45. It was boring, long, exhausting and I was so close to puking. I am grateful Aaron was able to come with me because I don’t know how I would have done all of that by myself. He fasted with me because he felt so bad (even though I told him not to). He’s the most supportive person I know and I’m so thankful for that.

I will say that I PASSED my 3 hour so I DO NOT have gestational diabetes. Thank you sweet Jesus! I was VERY concerned with Thanksgiving coming up LOL I am feeling much better now and a LOT less stressed. I’m ready to sit back and enjoy the holidays coming up and soak up every minute I have left carrying our sweet baby boy.

*I also wanted to mention something before this blog post gets too long. I’m sure most of you have seen that I have been making sponsored posts with different companies. I just want you all to know that as this continues, I will NOT post about any company that I don’t truly love and support. I will always be open, honest, and transparent with you guys. I am not going to be one of those people that posts about how much they love “so and so” when they truly don’t and they are just making the post for pay or free product.*
