I have never been late on one of her updates so leave it to me to be late on her one year! 🤦🏼♀️ It’s been a long month! A lot has been going on so lets dive right in!
I have decided to wean Peyton from breastfeeding. She honestly doesn’t even ask for it anymore until she goes to bed! She eats a normal diet for the most part and she is just so preoccupied during the day that I think she just forgot that she used to eat every 2 hours lol It was a tough decision to make because I did consider extended breastfeeding. This is just what feels right and she is old enough now to not absolutely “need” breast milk for nutrition. I’ll go more into depth about all of that another day! But I am so glad we made it past the 1 year mark. We had such a rocky start that I truly didn’t believe we would make it as far as we did! I am so proud of the both of us! It was worth every tear and struggle. I’m sad that our little special time together is ending soon, but I am also happy to have my boobs back lmao
Peyton took her first steps this month! So exciting! She hasn’t quite gotten past taking a few steps and falling forward though lol She has been soaking up so much lately! She has mastered “all done” and “more” in sign language. She has started putting her new little cellphone up to her ear which is the cutest thing ever! She can shake her head yes and no. She is getting better at associating words with the actual objects or people. So if we say “light” she will either look at it or point to it. She loves to “open the fridge” and grab her sippy cup by herself lol She still hasn’t said any words yet. She will when she is ready 🙂
Her first birthday was so much fun! It was a day I will never forget. She had a blast until she started getting cranky and had to take a nap lol She wasn’t into the cake at ALL which was truly surprising. She likes almost everything we have ever offered her, except for cheese! :O Who doesn’t like cheese!? Only my kid lol It was a very special day and we had a lot of fun with our friends and family.
This year flew by so fast. I was so emotional leading up to her birthday. It seems like she has been in my life forever, but it feels like yesterday that we brought her home. Time is so weird! This has been the most fun, challenging, and fulfilling year of my life. Peyton makes my life so meaningful. She brings a smile to my face every single day. She has been cuddling with me WAY more lately too and I just love it so much. She is the best little girl in the world and I am forever grateful for her. It is amazing how much changes in such a short time. I just hope this next year goes by a little slower!
