Honestly, I don’t know how to write these anymore lol So much goes on between all these appointments that my mind is just a blur when I start to write. Let me just dive right in!
Friday’s NST and doppler scan went pretty well! The NST went well so Peyton is doing just fine! With the ultrasound, they did a biophysical profile. It measures her heart rate, muscle tone, movement, breathing, and the amount of amniotic fluid. She aced that pretty quickly 🙂 The cord still has resistance but it improved from the week before. Peyton moved from frank breech to transverse. This made me feel like maybe, just mayyybe, she was going to make the turn! (notice the past tense -__-)
Today we had another NST and growth scan. NST went well again with the exception of a few contractions coming up lol The doctor that read it this time wasn’t used to reading my NSTs and was so confused as to why the nurse wasn’t panicking that a 35 week pregnant woman was contracting like that lmao It’s just my norm! The growth scan showed that Peyton grew appropriately from the scan 3 weeks ago and actually went up 2% more in percentile but obviously still below the 10th. So she is still considered growth restricted but she isn’t falling behind, so she’s doing well at this point! The cord is continuing to show resistance, but no worse than Friday’s appointment. Although this is a good thing, it does mean that she will be here when I’m 37 weeks. They won’t let me go past that because of the risk of things changing negatively. They expect her to feed well, regulate her temperature, and breathe well on her own by then. Unfortunately, our little stinker moved back to the frank breech position. During this Monday’s appointment, we will be scheduling a c-section date 😦
I can’t even BEGIN to explain the fear and dread I have about having a c-section. I have 2 more weeks to get used to the idea. I’m extremely scared of having the spinal/epidural and just being awake during a major surgery. I really wanted a vaginal birth and for Peyton to have the benefits of a vaginal birth… but I also know that this will be the best thing for her since she is breech =/ I’m hoping on the day she is born, I am able to put most of the fear aside to enjoy it as much as I can. I just can’t wait for her to be here and I want her to be as happy and healthy as can be.
I have definitely been feeling more and more uncomfortable. I’ve been having the contractions every so often and some pretty intense pelvic and pubic bone pain. Acid reflux is a nightly occurrence as well 🙂
Today Peyton measured at 4 pounds 9 ounces. Most of her development is complete and she is just getting bigger and stronger every day 🙂 I saw her give me a nice punch to the side during the ultrasound and she seems to have chubby cheeks despite being a teeny weeny… but it could just be the ultrasound lol
