It has been such an amazing week and weekend! I want to quickly address my last blog on our infertility story. I have been so amazed at the responses we have received. It was incredible to see so many people open up about their own struggles and I was so glad to be able to get that conversation started. I’m hoping that others who chose not to open up just yet saw all the support that was available. Unfortunately, too many people go through this, but we should all be here to support each other!
Our gender reveal was absolutely amazing! It was one of the happiest days of my life. We are so thankful to have so many friends and family come over to spend that day with us. SO. Thanks to Aaron’s little announcement right AFTER the reveal… -__- Everyone found out that we actually knew the sex for about a week before! It was not intentional at all, I swear. One night I woke up and couldn’t move my left leg because I was in so much pain with my round ligament. When we went to the doctor to get it checked out, they wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure it wasn’t my ovary. We knew we may find out at that point and we were freaking out lol When the ultrasound tech started the ultrasound and took a “peak” at the baby… her legs were up over her head and wide open for everyone to see. She paused the screen and said “do you see those three lines right there”? At that point, I knew it was a little girl but I was in complete shock. She said “that means she’s a little girl”. My mouth dropped and Aaron had the biggest smile on his face and tears in his eyes (he wanted a little girl so badly). I kept saying things like “get the $%^& out of here” and “shut up” while laughing and tears were just rolling down my face. It was pretty funny. I just couldn’t believe it. I was SO sure she was a he… but I am so SO happy that she is a girl. All was well with my ovary by the way 😛
We knew at that point that there was NO WAY we could let ANYONE know that we knew. The party was planned and people had already made arrangements to come. It would have been complete torture for our parents so we took time and enjoyed our little secret together and it was so much fun to be honest. We did have our full anatomy scan on the Friday before the party so that wasn’t a lie 😉 Yes, I did ask for triple confirmation of her sex. Still a girl and all is well! Even though we found out unexpectedly and not in the way we planned, I wouldn’t change it for the world. It was such a beautiful moment for the two of us.
Her name was not a name we had in mind AT ALL… but when we looked at her ultrasound pictures, we knew her name was Peyton Michelle (I have my mom’s name as my middle name, so she will have mine as hers). Our little princess Peyton ❤
Symptoms this week have just been some pretty crappy round ligament pain. Luckily it gets much better with rest. Peyton was kicking like CRAZY yesterday. I’m addicted to it and I love it! She is the size of a banana at about 6.5 inches long and weighing about 10 ounces. Her uterus is fully formed this week and she has eggs in her ovaries already! INSANE.
